Stripped fuel bowl screw threads are a common Holley carburetor repair issue. Fuel bowl screws can become damaged from repeated bowl removal, overtightening, cross-threading or years of service. When the threads in the carburetor body strip, the fuel bowl may not clamp properly, creating the risk of fuel seepage or a fuel bowl leak.
This Holley carburetor fuel float bowl thread repair kit is designed to repair the stripped threads for the screws that hold the fuel bowl to the carburetor. Instead of replacing the carburetor body, this kit allows the damaged screw hole to be drilled, tapped and repaired with a stainless steel thread insert.
The kit includes the tap, tap-drill, installation tool and 12 stainless steel thread inserts. Every component in this kit is interchangeable with Heli-Coil style thread repair products.
 
COMMON HOLLEY CARBURETOR PROBLEM

REPAIR NOTES
Remove the fuel bowl before performing thread repair. Keep metal chips away from fuel passages, metering blocks and internal carburetor components. Drill and tap carefully so the repaired screw hole remains straight and aligned with the fuel bowl.
If the insert is installed crooked, the fuel bowl screw may bind or fail to clamp evenly. Clean the repaired area thoroughly before reassembly.
